We welcome enquiries from schools interested in joining the Trust and would be happy to meet with your leadership team to discuss.
The BST is a small community-led Trust with a current focus on the schools around East Reading. We welcome new schools into membership if they;
- are committed to and support our Philosophy
- are committed to outstanding academic results
- are prepared to contribute to the Trust, sharing expertise and supporting other schools to improve.
In return we offer a highly devolved and decentralised culture, based on relationships and mutual support. We actively value diversity in our schools, seeking to allow each to retain its own unique characteristics. We offer school improvement support and finance advice.
The Trust is supported by the Diocese of Oxford, and has Diocesan and Clergy Trustees on its Board. It welcomes applications from schools of all faith positions and none.
We will consider applications from schools with all OFSTED ratings, including those in Special measures. In all cases, successful application is subject to a mutual due diligence process, which will include an assessment of leadership and governance capacity in the Trust and the School based on our view of the school’s need. We reserve the right to decline applications, or to make acceptance conditional on changes. We will work with schools through the Academy Conversion process, offering an expert project manager to help.
The Trust schools are all required to use a common financial system (currently PS Financials) and report to the Trust monthly. We seek to provide development moves for staff within the Trust family of schools, which member schools should agree to.
