New Town Primary School
New Town Primary School is a school family working together in partnership to develop a love of learning and respect for one another, in a beautiful Victorian building situated in East Reading on the Kennet and Avon Canal. This community school is in the midst of a richly diverse community and has a strong school ethos where staff and children live and breathe ‘Respect for All’. Collective worship takes place daily, celebrating the school’s rich cultural background and exploring strengths together. New Town’s children’s needs, whether academic, behavioural or emotional, are at the heart of its provision and decision making. Their pupils are rightfully proud of their achievements and enjoy celebrating these as part of a close-knit school family whilst developing the school’s ethos of respect, love, tolerance and honesty. New Town is a safe haven of love and care for the pupils who attend it.
The school’s key values are those of love, tolerance, respect and honesty. Whilst New Town is a community school, and therefore broadly Christian in character as required by law, the school welcomes all, regardless of faith and ethnic background, and works together in harmony to show these core values to one another and behave in accordance with these.
