Simon Hodgson

Dr Simon Hodgson is Managing Partner at Carnstone Partners LLP, a London-based management consulting firm specialising in sustainability. He founded Carnstone in 2000, leading a management buy-out in 2011. Previously he held a number of strategic and project management roles, including ten years at AEA Technology PLC. He has a DPhil in Physics from Oxford University.

Simon has been a Governor at St John’s since [date]. He is also a Trustee of a small foundation concerned with faith and science. He lives in East Reading, both his children attended St John’s and he attends Wycliffe Baptist Church. He principally contributes strategic, commercial and financial skills to the Trustee board.

David Locke

David Locke is the finance director for BST and is also the chief operating officer for The Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust which cares for 21 schools in the Oxford Diocese. As a Chartered Accountant he has held finance director roles over the last 15 years. Before this he worked with two of the “Top 4” accounting firms, KPMG and EY, leading a cybersecurity division.

David has been the Finance Director and Trustee of BST since its inception. He is also a Board Member of the Oxfordshire Local Government Pension Scheme and Chair of the CAF Pensions Scheme. He lives in Didcot and attends Ridgeway Community Church. For seven years David was a governor and chair at Didcot Girls School. He also serves as a governor at a small rural primary school in West Berkshire. In his spare time David enjoys John Grisham novels and exploring the great outdoors.

Angie Kay

Appointed to New Town Primary School in February 2015 as a member of the Interim Executive Board (IEB) tasked with bringing the school out of special measures. Angie is an experienced school governor at both primary and secondary school level, and a consultant for the National Governors’ Association, helping schools in other counties improve their governance.

She has 20 years’ experience in charity governance, fundraising and marketing, and is also a governor and trustee of Reading School, a director of investment research firm Intellisys Intelligent Analysis Limited and company secretary of facilities management company Premark Environmental Limited. Her strengths lie in leadership, strategic planning, financial management and communications. At New Town she is nominated governor for finance, child protection and safeguarding.

Angharad Brackstone

Angharad has been a Headteacher at St John’s Primary School for over 9 years and has been an Executive Headteacher of New Town Primary School and St John’s Primary School for over 2 years. Angharad is also a Trustee and the interim CEO and Accounting Officer for BST.

Having lived in the Newtown community many years ago and worked in the local area for nearly 10 years, Angharad has a clear understanding of the strengths and challenges that lie within each school as well as within the wider community.  Angharad brings clarity of vision and a wealth of experience of leadership and strategic planning and she ensures that staff and governors are kept well informed of key educational policy and change ensuring that timely information is presented to the Board of Trustees and the Local Governing Bodies.
